Creekside’s Youth Ministry offers a variety of classes for youth and parents throughout the year.

Twenty Questions

Twenty Questions is a Sunday morning class for sixth through eighth graders on the foundational beliefs of Christianity. The class discusses questions like, "Can we trust the Bible?", "Does God really exist?", "Who am I?", "How does Jesus' death and resurrection benefit us?", "Who is the Holy Spirit?", "Why do Christians go to church?" and many more! We hope that this class is a fun and safe place for middle schoolers to learn about the essentials of the Christian faith and to express and grapple with their own doubts and questions. It meets on the first, second, and third Sundays of the month from 10:50-11:30 a.m. in the Student Center. Middle schoolers will worship with their families in the main service and then head to their class. We hope to see you there! Please contact Jenny Sloat for more information.

Parenting with jesus in the room

Family Pastor Greg Arthur teaches the seminar, “Parenting with Jesus in the Room: 4 Essentials of Parenting as Discipleship.”

Since Jesus is always in the room, what he thinks about parenting matters most. So, what does he think? That's what we're going to explore during this two-week Sunday morning seminar on Christian parenting as discipleship. The Bible describes the work of raising children to be discipling our children to know and love and follow Jesus. The Bible says that parenting is nothing less than the passing down to our children the salvation and life found only in our faith in Jesus, for as Jesus said, "what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul?" (Mark 8:16) So how do we do that? How do we disciple our children to know and love and follow Jesus? In this seminar, we're going to distill the Bible's wisdom about parenting down to four key concepts, associated with four key verses, as being essential to Christian parenting as discipleship.

The Model: Imitating Christ (Since They’re Going to Imitate Us Anyway)
The Method: Teaching Diligently (Since We Teach Our Real Values No Matter What)
The Mission: Winning Hearts (Since We’ve Only Said What They Hear)
The Manner: Gentleness (Since It’s Better to Be Drawn than Driven)

technology with Jesus in the room

Greg Arthur and Kyle Driggers teach this 90 minute seminar for parents and youth where we will discuss how we disciple the next generation in the face of the unprecedented impacts tech has. Tech is revolutionary, useful, valuable, addictive, and secretive. It takes up huge amounts of time. The focus of this seminar is not to pine for the old days when there was no tech, but to identify the challenges of tech and media and construct a Biblical worldview to navigate through this modern day challenge.
