Community Group Basic Training

On Saturday, August 23rd, Creekside community group leaders gathered for basic training. Over 4 sessions, we laid out our vision for community group ministry at Creekside. Community groups are absolutely vital to the health and growth of this church, and represent our only long-term disciple-making strategy. We believe that community group ministry is a three-legged stool; the three legs are community, discipleship and mission. Members of a healthy group will live in close-knit community. They will submit to Jesus as they hear his voice in Scripture. And, they will follow Jesus into the world on mission. During these sessions, we offer a biblical rationale for this “three-legged stool.” We also provide practical suggestions for how groups can take growth steps in these three areas.
