We want Creekside’s facility to be a safe place for our congregation, our children and those who visit. Scripture says that the Lord is our ultimate protector (Psalm 91:1-2),yet he often provides for us through human means (Romans 13:1-7, Hebrews 13:17). It is prudent that we be prepared in the event that some natural disaster or man-made disruption occurs. Below are Creekside’s safety and security protocols.
CALL 911 IF YOU ARE EXPERIENCING A MEDICAL OR LIFE-THREATENING EMERGENCY.
Building security
MONDAY-SATURDAY
All exterior doors should be closed and locked at all times.
Only Creekside staff and leaders, Immigrant Hope leaders, and CrossStreets leaders are allowed in the building at any time.
Individuals who are attending a scheduled meeting, group, or event are allowed in the building for that specified time.
SUNDAY MORNINGS
Safety volunteers will monitor the doors and building during both worship services (9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.).
During both services, all exterior doors are closed and locked except for the front door.
Safety Volunteer #1 will be stationed and monitoring the front door.
Safety Volunteer #2 will be stationed at the patio door when it’s open and observe Creekside’s interior and exterior surroundings when it’s closed.
Creekside Elders will assist the Safety Team as needed.
Greeters may be assigned to welcome people at the patio entry. When finished serving, greeters should close the door and put up the sign to use to the main entrance at the front.
Coffee team volunteers, because of their location closest to the patio, should keep an eye on the patio doors, closing the doors whenever they get left open during service (unless a greeter or safety team member is posted there).
INSTRUCTIONS FOR GROUPS THAT MEET IN THE BUILDING THROUGHOUT THE WEEK
All exterior doors are closed and locked at all times.
Someone in your group will need to monitor the front door to let members of your group in, or they will need to call or text someone in your group to be let in.
If your group meets in the community room or student center, someone in your group will need to monitor the patio door to let members of your group in.
Be aware of your surroundings at all times. When you leave, make sure that the door closes and locks behind you.

Children and teachers should remain in locked classrooms until it is safe to emerge.
Parents should not go to their child’s classroom during an AA incident as each classroom will be in lockdown mode.
RESPONSE PROTOCOL FOR CREEKSIDE LEADERS
In the Auditorium
Upon hearing the whistle or other indication of AA, the pastor or elder closest to the microphone will give directions to blockade/secure the doors so no one can enter, and/or direct members in evacuation.
The AV team should lower the shades.
If the AA is in the Foyer, Auditorium, Children’s Area, or Other Populated Area
If possible, overwhelm the AA with numbers and physically detain him/her. Then follow the safety plan after detainment of AA.

HIDE - If evacuation is not possible, find a place to hide
Lock and/or blockade the doors.
