The Way, The Truth & The Life Martial Arts Ministry is a non-profit program dedicated to teaching both self defense tactics and God's Word. CLASS TIMES
Classes meet on Mondays and Thursdays at 4:00 p.m. for beginning students (white through orange belts), 5:00 p.m. for intermediate and advanced students (green belt and above), and at 6:00 p.m. for beginning students. Please make sure your student arrives and leaves at the appropriately scheduled class time.
AGE REQUIREMENTS
People five years and older are invited to attend Martial Arts classes. Classes are typically a mixture of adults and children.
BELT TESTING
Please be advised we are not in a hurry to test. We will test when the majority of students are ready. Testing occupies one week of the class schedule and is performed as follows. White, yellow and orange belt testing is on a Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Brown and black belt testing is on the following Saturday. Green, blue, purple, and red belt testing is on the following Monday at 6:30 p.m. White-red belt testing takes two hours. Brown and black belt testing takes four hours. Family and friends are encouraged to attend. After the testing, the instructors and students enjoy a pizza dinner. The instructor may combine testing’s depending upon number of students testing. We have an awards banquet the following Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
CLASS FEES
When a student begins an initial start up fee of $50 is required. The start up fee covers the first month’s instruction and the purchase of a uniform and belt. Martial Arts classes are $25 per month. Payment is due on the first of each month.
Students have the opportunity to test for a new belt every three to four months. A $25 testing fee is required for yellow and orange belts. Green and blue belt testing fees are $75. The increase in costs is due to the student receiving their broadsword at green belt and staff at blue belt. Testing fees return to $25 for the purple and red belts. Brown belt and black belt testing fees are $50. Decided black belt testing fees are $200. This covers a personalized black belt ($40), custom embroidered school jacket ($75), spear ($50), certificate ($10) and the regular testing fee ($25.)
Upon completion of the first testing (white to yellow belt), each student receives uniform patches. At this time, we request that the students have their names and patches sewn on their uniforms. The cost for the embroidering and sewing is $40 and can be completed at Linda’s Lettering in Castro Valley. You can contact them at (510) 881-4730.

INSTRUCTOR
Mr. Wallace currently holds black belt rankings in five styles including The Way, The Truth and The Life, Kung Fu under Chinese Wu Shu national champion Tony Chen, Karate 10th degree Grand Master Sid Campbell deceased, currently, Taekwondo under American National Champion Jim Cotrell & Toritado under Vietnam Vet and accomplished martial artist Terence Shea. Mr. Wallace is a continual student and continues his training. In addition to further studies out of the formal class setting, Mr. Wallace is currently studying the art of Escrima (Philipino knife and stick fighting) under Grandmaster Joe Olivares as well as Small Circle Jujitsu Under Grand Master Lee Eichelbeger while maintaining his studies in Kobayashi Shorin Ryu under 7th degree Jerrell Smith. Mr. Wallace has been studying the martial arts for the last 20 years.
