Welcome to the Creekside Kids' Theatre 2010-2011 Season! We are very excited about our ninth year, which includes two old favorites, two new versions of shows we have done in the past, and the return of our middle school musical! This season will also feature shorter rehearsal schedules with more rehearsals, which we hope will aid line memorization, choreography, and overall enjoyment of each production. Creekside Kids' Theatre exists to introduce children to the joy of live theatre. Since 2002, we've produced shows such as "The Wizard Of Oz", "The Hobbit", "Cinderella", "Sleeping Beauty", "A Year With Frog And Toad", and most recently, "The Jungle Book" and "The Phantom Tollbooth." Our productions are open to all children in the community and are offered free of charge. Every child who auditions receives a part. Auditions take about ten to twenty minutes and involve learning and singing a song from the show and reading from the script. Kids who are not comfortable reading aloud may repeat one line from the show instead. One way to make auditions more fun and less intimidating is to practice beforehand. We offer audition packets with the scenes we will perform at each audition. Kids do not have to memorize these scenes or the song, they can just familiarize themselves with the characters and how they would like to say the lines. Auditions will be held by appointment this season. Fall show audition appointments can be made for August 16th-20th and 23rd-27th between 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Kids can audition by themselves or arrange to audition with friends. All auditions will be held in the auditorium at Creekside. All fall shows will be cast by August 30th. Read on to learn more about our fall shows.. If you have any questions, would like more information, or would like to schedule an audition appointment, please contact Jenny Bruce at (510) 430-0607.
