Creekside's Community Service Ministry exists to demonstrate the love of Christ to our community through good works. Creekside members volunteer their time and talents to serve both San Leandro and the greater Bay Area. We also partner with existing civic and non-profit organizations to provide a wide range of services for both individuals and families.

 2008 OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE                                                                                                          All of the following service opportunities are great for individuals, families or small groups. 

Jones Convalescent Home
The Third Thursday of Each Month, 10:30 - 11:30 a.m.

Join the Creekside staff as we minister to the staff and clients at Jones Convalescent Home through singing, games, prayer, and room visits.  Call Kathy Greer at (510) 430-0607 for more information.

Tool Time Ministry
Saturdays, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Serve with Creeksider David Grant on maintenance projects in the homes of elderly, handicapped, single moms and those who do not have the skills or tools to do so.  Men, women and teens welcome to serve and learn. Contact David Grant for more information.

Greeter Ministry
Summer Sundays, 8:45 and 10:15 a.m.

Serve as a greeter at Creekside and get to know new people. You can try it out any Sunday this summer at 8:45 and 10:15 a.m.  This is a one time serving opportunity to try out a ministry you might enjoy.  For more information, contact Kathy Greer at (510) 430-0607.

Cox Elementary Staff Appreciation
Wednesday, August 20th from 7:45-8:15 a.m.

Cheer on the Cox Elementary staff as they return for a new school year.  We will provide posters and balloons.  We'll meet in front of Cox on 9860 Sunnyside Street in Oakland.  For more information, contact Kathy Greer at (510) 430-0607.

San Leandro High School Staff Appreciation
Tuesday, August 26th from 7:45-8:15 a.m.

Letter Writing To Inmates At Deuel Vocational Institution
Anytime

Write letters to our Christian brothers at DVI.  Share a Bible verse that is important to you, write about your concern for them, and sign your first name.  Then drop your letters off at Creekside and we will mail them to the DVI chaplain.

Design A Webpage
Anytime

Create a simple webpage design for First Resort’s Spring Dinner 2009.  Can be done virtual, requires a basic understanding of web design and experience with HTML.  Contact Albert Lee at (510) 569-1200.

Deliver First Resort Bulletin Inserts

Pick up "Churchspeak" bulletin inserts and deliver them to local churches. Contact David Moyer at (510 ) 569-1200.

Prepare Baby Bottles
Anytime

Prepare baby bottles for the First Resort program at their San Leandro office. Contact Velina Pelgrift at (510) 569-1200.

Help Teach English
Tuesdays, 2:00 p.m.
